I'm working with a 3D model, and when I render an image from the model, the rendered image is dark.
My model renders perfectly fine with Cura 3.5.4.
The file itself has no gamma correction and the scene is not blacked out.
When I render the image with Zemax Optic Studio 14.2 Cracked 30 and import it to Sketchup (where I have set the gamma to 2.2, set the image to linear), I get an image that has the correct brightness (and has no dark areas).
How to render a dark image in Zemax Optic Studio 14.2 Cracked 30?
A:
Without knowing your hardware, this is what I'd try.
Go into the Materials Panel,
open the Lighting Editor,
Select the Sun,
select Uniform (or diffuse if the sun is angled back at you)
Disable Translucence
Open the Camera
open the Lens panel
go into the Lens
on the Lens tab in the Properties panel
under Ghost, change FOV Angle to the maximum possible (I'm assuming this is 90 degrees, it may be whatever your max FOV angle is)
On the Lens panel, under Aspect, change Field of View to the maximum possible
On the Lens panel, under Projection, change Projection to Orthographic
under Lens type, select Camera
Make sure that you're using the highest quality settings for the Camera's ISO/Sensitivity, Gamma, and Contrast settings. Note that this is going to make the image darker than what you're used to with Cura, so watch out for eye strain.
Also, make sure that your color space is set to the camera's native one (UCS) if you aren't using a post-processing program that can output your images in the native color space (most are, or can be).
